Trisha Krishnan (known mononymously as Trisha), born on 4 May 1983 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is an Indian actress and model. Her mother tongue is Tamil, but she also converses fluently in Hindi, French, and English. She works primarily in the South Indian film industries; mostly in her mother language.

After her school career at the Sacred Heart Matriculation School in Church Park, she pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course at the Ethiraj College for Women. She also began her modeling career and appeared in several television and print commercials. In 1999 she won two beauty pageants (Miss Salem and Miss Madras), and the film industry took notice.

Her debut on-screen performance was in an uncredited, supporting role in the Tamil film Jodi in 1999. In 2002 she was cast in her first lead role in the film Mounam Pesiyadhe. Trisha later rose to fame when she starred in the successful films Saamy (2003) and Ghilli (2004), in Tamil cinema, and Varsham (2004), in Telugu cinema.
